Highly Socialized

a sociology student’s take on the world

My Premise

And I write to you in hopes that you will get to see the real me.  The person who believes in you and all that you can truly be.  You are part of humanity whose grown in contempt with the world and all its possibilities.  You doubt your premise and can never again dream of sailing the seven seas.  Hypothetically of course, thus you must return to your original way of viewing life.  In where you can sail without restrictions and dream all through the starry night.  Return to the stage in where you were a kid and knew not of realistic ventures; where all your goals were to save the world and indulge in all of its exotic pleasures.  And then you can see the beauty in which I have been able to partake so freely in.  Because I look not at the things I cannot do, but rather my freedom that dwells within.  Restraint is but a word, which I have learned is not for me, so I choose to open my eyes and not be blind but truly see.  I start with the man in the mirror who sometimes gets the best of me, but he’s the same man who will allow me to overcome and simply be.  This is me: once a slave held hostage but now a freeman walking tall, that even though life is hard and I fall, I rise once again.
